First of all, I'm working on my GWAMM right now, so don't even say that "what I don't do is unimportant." I PvE whenever I'm not PvPing, so I know what grind is. As of now, I consider all titles in PvP and PvE absolutely useless and unimportant. When recruiting for guilds, I don't look at titles, and I don't look at anything that relates to grind, because I believe it's a poor indicator of anything. What we need is a good indicator of skill that is quantifiable.

The point of these titles is to keep Guild Wars true to what it originally meant: skill>time. The titles don't take long at all to obtain, and cannot be bought/sold easily. You literally have to earn them. There isn't any amount of grind you can do to obtain them easily - you would need to practice, and improve. See, the difference is, you don't learn anything from grind. I can HFFF all day, and grind, and not get any better. Practicing takes thinking, and takes intelligent individuals. Making it to the single elimination rounds of the Monthly Automated Tournament takes even more intelligent individuals - it takes a strong grasp of the game. There's a reason why the only real life cash prizes that were (and are) ever given out on Guild Wars are for GvG. Look at the world championships. Look at the monthly tournaments (well, last year's). Look at the Rawr Cups. Hell, look at the Guild Wars Guru GvG Tournament.

I agree with divine that the daily AT title is a little less useful, but it would increase participation in the automated tournaments for success rather than having people sit there with AFK guilds farming their Zaishen Titles. I also sincerely believe the monthly automated tournament title would be a better addition to the game.

Oh... interesting... a 'give me a title for what I like to do' title... hm...

No.
It's also interesting to consider many people thinking that I'm doing this simply because "I can't get this title!" There are a lot of titles you can't get. That, however, doesn't mean that they should exclude other players from obtaining them.

For those who say that I'm saying people are unexperienced because they don't agree with me, are wrong. Divine didn't agree with me, yet he was able to give me reasons why - because he actually knows what he's talking about. He sure as hell isn't unexperienced. All I ask is that you know what you're talking about before you post.

Stop trying to prop yourself up here. If you're spending more time in GvG killing NPC's than other players, you are either way better than the other team and just rolled them in 3 minutes or playing the game wrong.

By posting an idea on an official Guild Wars fansite, there is a possibility it will be read by someone who can make a decision regarding the direction of the game. By posting it on QQ or whatever, no dev is going to read it and nothing will be done. Posting PvP ideas on a PvP forum, where they would be well-received, really gets nothing done.

I think that the best way to make titles related to skill would be to make it so you could lose points in it for losses and such.

I also agree with lutz's ''Don't post if you don't have expirience about it''. Doing that you're most likely to get the thread closed and it's all lost :/ . If some PvPer posts stuff like that in PvE section you call him a troll etc. Calling lutz an elitist for saying that is pretty sad >_>
The OP calling everyone who disagreed with his idea retarded is sadder and is elitist I'm afraid.

All I'm saying is you HAVE to expect both criticism from others and inexperienced players to voice opinion here whether you like it or not. It's logic.Insulting them for daring to post is what gets threads closed.

PvP rang that is show true skill rate must be as ladder, so it can be lost if someone has better skill.
Why do people get so PISSED just cause whenever someone says "grind"

And now I'm out of here as I don't have much PvP experience.

He didn't. He did it only to those who disagreed and posted void arguements.

Good luck to the OP btw, even if I /notsigned, and apologies for tangenting

I don't think any sensible person would suggest that these titles be added now, it really is far too late. However, your ideas are still good, and would have been better alternatives to the current system, had ATs been around when they were implemented.

The current PvP titles are meaningless. They are (with a very slight reprieve for the champ title) just straight grind. Grind based titles may appeal to PvE players, but they are contrary to the mindset of a PvP player. Skill > Time, etc etc etc.
